The laser wavelengths of 1.06 μ m and 10.6 μ m generated by fiber laser and CO2 laser are both infrared light and can be absorbed by materials, so they are only used for industrial material processing. Fiber laser cannot cut non-metal, including wood, plastic, leather, cotton and linen fabrics. If the material to be processed is just non-metallic, the fiber laser can only be rejected and the CO2 laser cannot be used. Including brass, red copper, etc., CO2 laser cannot cut. As for CO2 laser, copper is a highly reflective material, and the laser is basically completely reflected without being absorbed. The light is reflected back to the laser, causing harm.
