From Laser to Screen
Mylar is the link between a laser and a screen-print table. Laser cutting Mylar and stencil film for screen printing makes crisp, reusable stencils that bridge digital design and ink on fabric or paper.
It is a neat niche: make the stencil on a laser, print with it, repeat.

Cut Clean Bridges
Mylar cuts cleanly at low power, but stencils need bridges so islands do not fall out. Leave thin connectors between letters and the frame, then the stencil holds together for printing.
Test cut a small letter to confirm bridges are strong but easy to tape if needed.
Thickness and Reuse
Around 0.1 to 0.2 mm Mylar is flexible and reusable for short runs; thicker lasts longer but is stiffer. Matte Mylar takes ink transfer better than glossy.
Wash stencils after use and they serve many prints, lowering cost per run.
Align and Print
Tape the stencil to the screen or substrate, squeegee ink, lift, and repeat. Because the cut is identical, registration stays put across a batch.
FAQ
Will it melt? Only if overpowered; low power, slow speed.
How many prints? Dozens for short runs with care.
Bridge the Two Crafts
Mylar stencils connect laser cutting to screen printing with clean, reusable results. Cut bridges, pick the right thickness, and align for batch printing. Our Laser Cutter range cuts film cleanly; for larger sheet work see HF Laser.
