How much do you know about antifreeze measures for lasers in winter?

As the temperature drops significantly, the ambient temperature of the laser water cooler is too low, which may lead to the failure of the water cooler and pipeline icing. Because the density of ice is less than the density of water, it will lead to the rupture or deformation of the cooling water pipeline due to the volume expansion inside the water cooler and the laser, resulting in significant damage to the relevant core components. So when you add clothes to your body, don't forget to take antifreeze measures for the laser!
1、 Basic anti freezing measures
In order to avoid damage to the laser, output head and water cooler caused by solidification of cooling liquid, the following three solutions are recommended:
1. Under the condition that the factory will never be powered off, do not turn off the water cooler at night, and ensure that the coolant is in a circulating state (please turn off and restart the water tank when working the next day, and the water tank does not have the function of constant temperature secondary heating).
2. Drain the cooling liquid in the laser, laser output head and water cooler after use every day.
3. Use the antifreeze specified by the laser manufacturer as the coolant.
2、 Cooling water emptying method
Open the drain valve of the chiller and drain all the water. Take out the filter element for drainage, because the water in the filter cup cannot be discharged, so as to prevent the shell from being broken by ice. Some water that is not easy to be discharged needs to be blown out with compressed air (ensure that the gas pressure is less than 0.3MPa) and pay attention to the direction of water inlet and outlet. "In" is the inlet and "out" is the outlet. It must be ventilated to the inlet, and pay attention to make marks when pulling out the water pipe to prevent inversion during installation (some brands of lasers have solenoid valves inside which must be charged before they can be drained. Please contact relevant after-sales personnel for details.)
Note: all cooling water in the laser, laser output head, cutting head and water chiller must be drained away to effectively protect the whole set of water-cooling pipes and related devices!
3、 Use the antifreeze specified by the laser manufacturer as the coolant
When the operating environment is often powered off and the conditions for draining the coolant every day are not met, the antifrogen of Clariant company must be added ® N antifreeze, with the addition ratio of 3:7 (3 is antifreeze and 7 is water). After adding antifreeze, it can resist -20 ℃ without freezing.
Note: to ensure the smoothness of the waterway, the water tank must be clean before adding antifreeze:
1. Drain the used water, clean the inner wall of the water tank and the filter screen, add clean water to wash away the stains;
2. Remove the filter element water cup, clean the water cup and replace the filter element (pay attention to whether the filter element water cup has a sealing ring and do not lose it);
3. Any antifreeze cannot completely replace deionized water and cannot be used for a long time all year round. After winter, the pipeline must be cleaned with deionized water or distilled water, and the deionized water or distilled water must be restored as the coolant.
Antifreeze can only be used to prevent icing, but it cannot be absolute. If conditions permit, we still suggest improving the electric environment and keeping the water cooler off.
If the laser cutting machine is not used for a long time, the place where the cooling water passes, especially the cooling water inside the laser and in the pipeline, must be completely drained.
