laser engraving machine for acrylic

Acrylic (plexiglass)
Acrylic is the most commonly used engraving material. It is easy to cut and engrave, available in various shapes, sizes, and low cost.

There are two production processes for plexiglass: casting and rolling

The laser engraving machine mainly uses the casting method to produce plexiglass, because the frosting effect produced by the laser engraving machine is very calendering. When buying plexiglass, you want to emphasize the high-purity good variety to your dealer, otherwise the material you bought back may have melted for engraving or cutting.

Sculpture
Generally speaking, plexiglass is engraved on the back, that is, engraved from the front and viewed from the back, which makes the finished product more three-dimensional. In the back engraving, please mirror the graphics first, the engraving speed should be fast and the power should be low. If the engraving power is too high, it will cause uneven streaks on the underside, if you want to engrave deeper, try engraving a few more times. In the case of back engraving, the coloring should be engraved deeper first, then polished with a flame polisher, which can be filled. If it is not polished, the color seen from the front will not be uniform.

Cut
Plexiglass is easy to cut, if the customer's request is not high, it can be delivered after cutting without flame polishing. Otherwise, an air blowing device should be used to improve the quality of the incision. When cutting plexiglass more than 8 mm, the large size lens should be replaced. Note: When using the laser engraving machine to cut plexiglass, the operator should not leave, and there may be flames during cutting.

Clean
After engraving, clean the surface color with a damp cloth. Acrylic pigments can be used. Other pigments may damage the finish of the plexiglass.
