At present, the strongest cold wave "cliff type" cooling in most areas of China since the beginning of autumn is obvious, and different seasons have different effects on the use of lasers. The cold winter is the biggest test, and the operating ambient temperature of the laser should be between 5-45 ℃. If this range is exceeded, the laser may be unstable, and even lead to damage to the laser, resulting in unnecessary economic losses. So, how to prevent laser from freezing in winter? Here are some tips to ensure that your laser can operate more smoothly and efficiently in cold winter

Discharge of circulating water circuit of primary chiller

When the laser equipment is finished or shut down on holidays, we can discharge the water in the circulating water circuit, and add the cooling water to the chiller when the cutting equipment is needed.

1. Open the drain valve of the chiller to drain the water in the water storage tank 2. After the water in the water tank is drained, there will be residual water in the water pipe or pipeline. First, remove the water inlet and outlet pipes, and blow the residual water in the laser, water pump and cutting head with clean compressed air or nitrogen below 0.3MPA. Make sure there is no water in the pipeline. Otherwise, the water droplets on the tube wall may form ice crystals, which will damage the internal components of the laser under the push of the water flow.

2: The water in the chiller keeps circulating

Under the condition that there is absolutely no power failure in the workshop, the chiller can not be shut down at night to keep the water circuit in circulation. At the same time, in order to save energy, the temperature of the optical fiber can be adjusted to about 10 ℃ to ensure that the cooling water will not be lower than the freezing point. However, when it is extremely cold, water flow may also freeze, which may cause equipment damage. (This is used according to the local environmental impact).

3: Use antifreeze as coolant

1. If the local power is often cut off or the current power is limited, the water circulation cannot be maintained all the time. Then we can add antifreeze to solve the problem. The antifreeze can prevent the coolant from freezing and cracking the laser, water pump and cutting head when shutting down in cold winter.

2. Pay attention to the quality when selecting antifreeze. If the quality of antifreeze is poor, it will not be able to prevent freezing. The advantages and disadvantages of antifreeze mainly include the following two points: one is the antifreeze effect. The freezing point of water is 0 ℃, which can reach - 40 ℃ for ordinary antifreeze, and about - 60 ℃ for high-quality antifreeze, which is an important indicator for calibrating the quality of antifreeze; The other is the boiling point of antifreeze. The boiling point of water is 100 ℃, and the antifreeze should reach at least 108 ℃. That is, the lower the freezing point, the higher the boiling point, and the greater the temperature difference, the better the antifreeze quality. Different brands and types of antifreeze have different production components, so it is prohibited to mix antifreeze.

3. When filling antifreeze, check whether the antifreeze is compatible with the cutting equipment, operate in strict accordance with the proportion of the user manual, and check whether it is applicable to the local use environment. Any antifreeze cannot replace pure water or deionized water, and cannot be used for a long time. After winter, the whole circulation pipeline must be cleaned with pure water or deionized water, and deionized water or purified water must be used as coolant again.

4: Precautions

After using antifreeze, such as during holidays or long downtime, please drain the water in the whole circulating water circuit according to the first rule: drain the circulating water circuit of the chiller.
